Jean-François Mimilla Necklace : COL 160

Since 1991, Jean-François Mimilla has been creating jewelry within Marc Le Bihan's Lange et Linceul atelier in Paris — entirely self-taught, entirely by hand. His process begins at the flea markets of Paris: vintage blown glass beads from the 1920s and 30s, antique rhinestones, aged steel chain, fragments of lace and resin — materials obsessively sourced, then washed, oxidised, and crocheted into something new. Resin appears throughout, suspending found objects mid-air as though preserving what was almost lost. Stainless steel rings become canvases; glass beads are rewoven into long, delicate necklaces; Swarovski crystals are set into resin and assembled into sculptural bracelets. Five years into his practice, Mimilla began attaching his own name to his work — and every piece still arrives in a handmade box of his own making. Wearable art that sits somewhere between recovered archive and living craft.
